Electrical Renovation of Hangar 1002

Location: Aircraft Maintenance Facility, Hangar 1002, Naval Air Station Jacksonville, FL
Project to upgrade and repair the existing electrical system of the aircraft maintenance facility at NAS Jacksonville. AKEA inspected the existing equipment and repaired or replaced electrical power switchboards, electrical power switchboard molded case breakers, electrical power distribution and electrical branch distribution panels, transformers, lighting contactors, automatic transfer switches, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), and fire pump controllers. Upgrades included installing new surge protective devices, properly bonding the light and flag poles to the grounding system in accordance with NEC 250, replacing existing mechanically held lighting contactors with new electrically held contactors, installing new UPS system equipment, properly bonding existing dry-type transformers to the building steel in accordance with NEC 250.30A, and installing metal halide flood light fixtures, conduits, and wiring to existing circuit.
