HAZMAT and Hazardous Waste Management

Location: Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield, GA
AKEA was contracted to provide hazardous materials and waste support services, including technical and field assistance, in support of Fort Stewart, Hunter Army Airfield (HAAF), and the Fort Stewart Directorate of Public Works (DPW) Environmental Division. The Environmental Division manages the environmental program of the 279,270-acre Fort Stewart Military Reservation and the 5,370-acre installation at HAAF, near Savannah, GA, and also operates several satellite facilities. AKEA operated the HAZMAT section and the hazardous waste turn-in section at Fort Stewart, the HAZMAT drop-off point and the hazardous waste section at HAAF, and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) inspection section at Fort Stewart, reporting all potentially unhealthy or hazardous conditions encountered in the performance of this contract. AKEA personnel also worked on site at the DPW Environmental Division and provided support to the Division’s satellite offices throughout Fort Stewart and HAAF.
