Stabilization of Bush Hill, Phase 3

U.S. Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service Project to install erosion control measures at the Bush Hill mechanized training area at Fort Benning. The design had been prepared by the Natural Resources Conservation Service. Work included clearing and grubbing, and disposal, burial, or removal of woody, concrete, and metal debris; seeding, mulching, and installing silt fencing; performing excavation required to construct rock-lined channels and earth berms; constructing earth berms; placing rock fill for installing plastic pipe; installing PVC pipe, geotextile, and riprap; placing erosion control blanket on earth berms and cut slopes; installing articulated concrete block mats on a tank trail; and installing a precast concrete headwall. Contract modifications included adding a rock-lined channel in a newly formed gully to control erosion, extending a stone-hardened tank trail to protect an access road during future on-site training activities, and constructing a training object (non-building).
