Renovate Interior Building 556, East Side
Client: U.S. Air Force
Location: Patrick Air Force Base, FL
AKEA was contracted by the 45th Contracting Squadron at Patrick AFB to renovate sections of the east side of Building 556, an area that included 14 first- and second-floor suites and an interior stairwell. The work included repairing walls and floors; replacing doors and modifying door openings; removing carpet with ACM mastic; installing new carpet and tile, baseboards, and window treatments; modifying water closets, rebuilding toilet flush valves, replacing vanities and sinks, and modifying sink vents and drains; replacing light switches and receptacle covers and installing new lighting; and patching, priming, and painting 14 units (approximately 8,820 square feet). During the initial demolition, mold was encountered, and AKEA also provided mold remediation for the 14 units.
